Our Sunday drive
Well it was sunday and there's not a better day of the week then Sunday for a nice little lazy drive, and our little drive today would take us up into the beautifully stunning hinterlands of Mundaring. Our stop was a little known picnic spot just at the base of the dam, where you can sit back and let the mind wonder and just lazzabout. Well I did have a hard working week come to think of it I was about as busy as a mop n' bucket Queenslander salesman! So having the chance just to sit back and enjoy the sunshine was right on the cards. As for kiddies well they had a ripper time climbing all over the place, and you'd be surprised how many ways they can find to fall of rocks.
Well with the rest part over and done with we started the bushwalk up the side of the Dam, heres three of the nevilles who posed for the photo.... Oscar was still coming up the hill (pool little sod) well you cant keep stopping for the slow coaches hay, or we'll be here all friggin' day but as you can see he finally made the trip up the hill and joined us the crossing.
As for the crossing over the weir I saw Sarah take off by herself, and thought oh she'll come back once she sees the hight. But as for the big fella Oscar well he had my hand before we come near the fence. This trip wasn't gonna be a problem for Jacko, I think the only problem would be making sure he doesn't try body-boarding down the wall! But crikey Sarah surprised me as she took off across the walkway without a problem in the world, 'you go girl'.
And as you can see we made it across the weir without any loss of life (Mum will be happy), and after a little stickybeak around we made for the walk back down the other side.
Harrison, Sarah and the big Osk having a little gander.
Jacko with his Swan Districts cap on his head... lucky it didn't blow off his head when we crossed, Luckily for him that is I would of easily chucked him over to grab on his way down! Well caps don't grow on trees you know.
Halfway down the Weir but I don't really like the cracks in the friggin' wall, crikey it's looking a bit knackered in some places.
Still going down heres Sarah Harrison n' Oscar taking a pitstop on the way down bloody Harrison it's hard to keep shoes on that boy, but then again there's nothing like a good kick up the cracker that won't fix things.
We made it down the other side and now it's a nice little walk to the Pump house, Here Sarah with her old peoples hat on well thats what she calls it.
Strewth! a few bricks there mate.
And here's Oscar showing us the Mundaring Weir Pump House, he's a happy little fella for a red head. And that was the end of our little bushwalk around the Weir, and now it's back to the picnic table and just sitting back resting.... and for the kiddies well it was back to the rocks!
