Harrison's accident
As you might know our little Harrison was in a freak accident at home, he was swinging on our backyard swing when the metal brace holding the top pine long broke and gave way. Harrison hit the ground and the pine long fell down on top of him, crushing his little tummy and Pancreas.
His Harrison with Mum n' Chase, in the photo Harrison is holding his reward sticket chart. As you can see his had lots of stickers for being brave and not whinging, he got one sticker for every scan be recieved... crikey! as you can see his had a fair few scans.
Here's Chase... it's only being a few minutes and he's already whinging, not like our little brave Harrison.
What the little fella has done is crush a part of his Pancreas and has major swelling around the jejunum (which is the beinging of the small intestine), and so now it's a waiting game to see if the swelling comes down and so doing starts to work again. It's a slow progress as it's been now six days and so far not much has come down, his on morphine for his pain and they will drop down the amount as he gets better. He recieves scans each day to keep an eye on things and he has had every bit of plastic (Hostipal turms for machines) that they can hit him with, he's had the biggie an MIR and a few CATSCANS and heaps of ULTRASOUNDS and a scan that i'm not sure what it's called... but he had it. So at night the poor little fella lights up like a friggin' green light bulb! He's not able to eat yet because of his injurys so he now has a tube insurted down his nose which goes threw the crushed place and into his lower small intestine, which will help him atleast get something into his little body.
He was happy when his big bro Jacko visited him and brought a little pressie, which made Harrison light up. There's nothing like a good pressie to light up a little sick fella, all the up's are good for the little fella. Sarah visited him too but somehow she didn't get in the photo... THATS A FIRST!
Since these photos now Harrison has had one of the tubes down his nose (which went into his stomach) removed, but he seems to like the needle and tubes in his hand. As he says 'I've got a robot hand'... pretty cool! He thinks he's becoming a Transformer! His a tough little fella and has never complained once since being in hospital, of cause the morphine keeps some of the pain at bay. But really it's because his just a tough beaut little Paul and all our Paul's are tough, well they have to be, have you spent anytime with his sister Sarah... crikey!
