Harrison's Hospital time

My poor little fella Harrison in his sick bed at the Princess Margret Hospital in Perth, after his accident with the backyard swing which as you can see he came off second best. Here are a few photos that we took during his four weeks at the hospital, which after being home for just over a week he went back in for another four nights..... poor little sod.

This was his worst part of his time in hospital he had a tube down both nostials (not a pretty sight) and one tube in both hands. The right tube in the nose sucked any liquid from the top part of his stomach, which stopped him from vomiting... well that was the plan but in time it did work. Then the second tube in his left nostial went down the back of his throat inside his stomach, past the crushed Pancreas and through the crushed Duedenum (For people who know nothing about there guts... like ME, thats the first part of the small intestine). In doing so some liquid food could past through the damaged parts, and in doing so give him a feed and also give the damaged areas a chance for a rest and to recuperate. The tube in his right hand had an Intravenous drip which not only did he have his liquid solution, but also his morphine drug. And finaly on his left hand he had a surgical procedure called a Gastrostomy to place a feeding tube through the skin and up into his stomach strewth!

Getting better slowly...

Harrison getting a lot better after having some of his tubes removed, here's Mum, Oscar, Jacko and Chase saying G'day.

Harrison and his little mate James.

Jeremiah Trueman and Drew Williamson who play for the Wildcats basketball side, having a chat with the little fella.

Harrison with his Doctor Who.... well Doctor Gallow (chef of surgeons) who looked after the little fella.

The day had come when out came the last tube which went down into his little body, crikey what a ripper cord hay i'm sure he was happy to see the end of that thing.

Harrison and his hospital teachers and he thought he was getting out of school... Bugger!

Harrison hanging with Chase, Dad and Jacko.

Harrison's bestest mates The Clown Doctors! These two blokes were rippers and Harry just loved having them around.

Harrison outside the Starlight room where all sick kiddies can hang out and have some fun, it's a great place at the top of the hospital and can I just say, well done again to Princess Margret Hospital who go out of there way to make the kids all as happy as they can.... under the circumstances!

Harrison, Oscar and Brother Jacko.

Here's Harrison hanging with all his new found mates

So from Harrison and his family just one more THANK YOU to all the Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Clown Doctors and even to the old cleaner, who sat down and had a chat with him during the times me and his mum couldn't be there with him. We couldn't thank the mob at Princess Margret Hospital enough, and I think they know that when we say 'We hope we never to see you again' they can take that in jest
