Harrison's Midland

Well I thought it was time to up-date our photos of Midland, as it's been a fair while since we showed you guys what's changed. And I thought I would bring a different kiddie to show off a different part of the township, and this weeks turn is Harrison Ralph's to show you a bit of the work going on around 'The Workshops'.

But then we noticed an old Railway car and so off we wondered to have a stickybeak....

His Harrison with some of the graffiti on this old girl.

As for the railcar it's an old A.D.G Diesel railcar which was made in England, and is being restored bit by bit at the old workshops.

Train Driver Harrison!

cool!

Then we had a walk down to where the track joins the main line to Perth, and say G'day to Flag man Fred.

As you can see theres still a fair bit of work still to be done at the workshops, it's been going on now for a fair few years and it's really starting to look beaut.

I just love seeing these real beaut old brick buildings I reckon we should save as many as we possibaly can, just looking at them they scream out History. Fairdinkum you have a gander at the buildings we have around the place now, and there all just bloody cement walls.

As you can see they kept all the brickwalls and windows and most off the building, but then updated them with some steal walls and ofcause all the od-cons inside.

And they don't build windows like these anymore hay.

Well okay not to many mod-cons here.... but can you just imagine what they could do with so much space, it'll be intresting what they actually do with all these buildings. Some have been changed with office space, and one of the out buildings the former 'Flanging shop' is now the Western Australian Police Operations Centre. So i'm sure over the next few years we'll keep you up-dated with what's going on with this land around Midland.
